Star Hero comments turn Sensational

Vijay-starrer ‘Thalaiva’ (Anna in Telugu) is yet to release in Tamilnadu whereas the film released on last Friday Worldwide as per the schedule. Following a threat issued by an unknown outfit to exhibitors and rejection of entertainment tax exemption for the film by the government despite the Tamil title have been the reasons for the delay. Tamilnadu CM Jayalalitha is said to be behind the delay of ‘Thalaiva’ due to political reasons and she even refused to give an appointment to Vijay, who thought of resolving the issue, despite several attempts.

Tamil star Dhanush who had good relations with Vijay vented his anger on the government for stalling the release. “What happened to Thalaiva is unfair. I wish they show this kind of effort in making this country a better place to live than just to ban a film,” opined the actor, who feels filmmakers who make films on true story or the stars with political aspirations are subjected to harassment.

Dhanush’s comments have created a sensation in Tamilnadu and people believed it’s an anti-government statement. Immediately, the actor took up damage control steps saying his comments have been misquoted by the media. “Neither I am against Tamilnadu government nor I spoke anything against it,” he clarifies.

Even, Vijay pleaded Jayalalitha to allow his film to release and even praised her for resolving issues like Cauvery water problem and providing cost-effective food chains ‘Amma Canteens’, laptops to students and free electricity to farmers. “I am confident that Amma would intervene in Thalaiva problem as well and help us to release the movie soon,” says the actor, in a statement.
