Remember Superstar Mahesh Babu-Anushka Shetty starrer Khaleja? Directed by Trivikram Srinivas the movie failed to rake in money at the ticket windows and was commercially failure at Box Office. The interesting fact about the film is that the movie’s title was originally registered by then budding director Ch Subba Reddy who was an assistant of director Surender Reddy.
Ch Subba Reddy had registered title “Khaleja” in Film Chamber long ago and was planning to make a movie with the name. Between, Trivikram and Mahesh thought that the same would be apt for their story and changed the title into “Mahesh’s Khaleja” and made the film. Although Subba Reddy had cried foul and even registered strong protest outside Film Chamber for a while, no one said to have come to his support.
And his name subsequently turned into “Khaleja” Subba Reddy in film circles. Now Subba Reddy is all set for his debut with Rough, starring Aadi and Rakul Preet Singh. Had the Trivikram and Mahesh have’t named it as Khaleja, Subba Reddy would have named Aadi’s Rough as Khaleja. That’s how Aadi’s title went to Mahesh. That’s the story behind Mahesh’s Khaleja.
