Couple of days ago, 20-year old Delhi University graduation student Jasleen Kaur turned the entire nation’s attention with her Facebook post about her alleged ever teaser Sarvjeet Singh. Jasleen post gained more than 36,000 shares and she was even appreciated by the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and the Delhi Police, who gifted her with Rs. 5,000 appreciating her bravery.
On the other hand, Sarvjeet Singh was booked under the IPC Sections 354A and 509 with charges of sexual harassment and insulting the modesty of a woman. Sarvjeet was later arrested and released on bail. Speaking to the media soon after his release, Sarvjeet claimed his innocence and said that Jasleen is doing all this for publicity and is misusing her political contacts as she is an AAP member.
Here comes a stunning twist to the tale. Supporting Sarvjeet’s version, a popular media housed aired an interview of a senior citizen who is a witness to the whole incident. The senior passerby said that Sarvjeet did not misbehave with the girl and that it was the girl who outraged on Sarvjeet for not obliging her request to stop his bike at the traffic signal.
The witness even suggested that such false accusations will only deter people from coming to a girl’s help in real crisis situations. Jasleen has not yet spoken about this counter-allegation.
