Subba Reddy to handle YSRC in Vizag!

After reconstituting his cabinet with 14 new ministers and retaining 11 ministers from the previous cabinet, YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is understood to have decided to revamp his party organisation.

According to highly placed sources in the party, the chief minister has replaced his trusted lieutenant and general secretary V Vijay Sai Reddy from the responsibility of handling the party affairs in north-coastal districts.

Sai Reddy will now be confined to the party’s frontal organisations like youth wing, women’s wing, labour wing, farmers’ wing etc. Besides, he will also be coordinating the overall party activities at the state-level.

Hitherto, Sai Reddy had been playing multiple roles in the party and the government, including undertaking liaison in New Delhi.

Hereafter, Jagan’s uncle and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board chairman Y V Subba Reddy would be taking care of the party activities and coordination in Visakhapatnam, a responsibility which was hitherto handled by Sai Reddy.

Similarly, senior minister Botcha Satyanaryana will be handling the party affairs in Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts, including the newly formed districts carved out of them. Both these districts have been the stronghold of Botcha right from the beginning.

Another interesting development is that Jagan’s right hand man and Rajampet MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy would be looking after the party affairs in the combined districts of East and West Godavari district.

Firebrand MLA and former minister Kodali Nani will look after the party in Krishna and Guntur districts; while another former minister Balineni Srinivas Reddy will handle the party in Prakasam and Nellore districts.

Similarly, YSRC’s Rajya Sabha member Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy will be the in-charge of the party in Kurnool and Anantapur districts. In fact, Vemireddy’s name was earlier tipped for the party in-charge post in Visakhapatnam.

“There are no official orders form the party. Jagan has given instructions to all the three leaders orally. They would be concentrating on the party affairs in their respective domains till the next elections,” sources added.
