Following the grand success of They Call Him OG, fans have been heaping praise on director Sujeeth, with some even comparing him to the seasoned filmmaker Koratala Siva, whose next project has yet to go on floors. However, a leading producer believes that Koratala Siva remains a few steps ahead in terms of career achievements.
“Koratala Siva is ahead of Sujeeth because he has delivered massive hits like Mirchi, Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage, and Devara. He has consistently explored strong, realistic themes — from a wealthy man adopting a village in Srimanthudu to an environmental crusader fighting to save trees in Janatha Garage. In terms of both success and substance, he stands well ahead,” the producer explains.
Social media has recently been buzzing with debates comparing the two directors. Sujeeth, fresh off OG starring Pawan Kalyan, has already moved on to his next project with Nani. Meanwhile, Koratala Siva, after delivering Devara, is yet to start his upcoming venture. Industry insiders argue that such comparisons are unfair, noting that Sujeeth’s next film has been in planning for some time, and quickly moving from one project to another is not the same as coordinating with top-tier stars.
Koratala Siva’s career trajectory is in a league of its own. Beyond Acharya, he has directed some of Telugu cinema’s biggest stars, including Mahesh Babu, NTR, and Prabhas. His current focus isn’t regaining momentum but rather aligning with the schedules of major actors. While Devara 2 has been confirmed, its timeline depends on actor availability and other big releases.
“Comparing Sujeeth and Koratala Siva isn’t entirely fair. They are at different stages of their careers, and measuring their progress on the same scale doesn’t make sense,” the producer concludes.
