Sunny Deol Urges Bollywood to Learn from South Filmmakers

After years of struggle, Bobby Deol made a powerful comeback with Animal, and his resurgence in the industry seems unstoppable. Similarly, his brother Sunny Deol also revived his career with the massive success of Gadar 2. Following the blockbuster, there has been no looking back for Sunny, who is now busy promoting his upcoming film Jaat, directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by Mythri Movie Makers.

At a recent promotional event, Sunny Deol made a strong statement, emphasizing that Bollywood producers should take inspiration from their South Indian counterparts. His words seemed to come straight from the heart, as he acknowledged the stark difference in the working styles of producers from both industries.

“You all call it Bollywood, but first, refer to it as Hindi cinema. Look at how South filmmakers make movies with love, passion, and complete trust in their directors. Once the script is locked, they go all in, leaving no stone unturned to bring that vision to life,” Sunny remarked.

He also praised the dedication and commitment of the Jaat producers, highlighting their unwavering support throughout the film’s making. Sunny believes that many Bollywood producers have lost faith in their filmmakers, which has negatively impacted the industry’s creative process.

However, some speculate that Sunny’s statement stems from his frustration over the delays surrounding Lahore 1947 and the outdated and conventional methods still followed by some Bollywood producers.
