Once regarded as one of the top commercial directors in Telugu cinema, Surender Reddy has experienced a significant downturn in his career following a series of setbacks. Films like Kick 2 and Agent not only faced harsh criticism but also performed poorly at the box office. In particular, the failure of Agent was a major blow, impacting his standing with leading stars.
For nearly two years, Surender Reddy has been waiting for a new project to kick off. Even before the release of Agent, he had signed a film with producer Ram Talluri, who had secured dates with Pawan Kalyan. The plan was for Surender Reddy to direct the star, but the setback with Agent put the project on hold.
Now, with Pawan Kalyan reportedly open to starting new ventures following the success of OG, there is renewed optimism. Producer Ram Talluri, who shares a close rapport with Pawan Kalyan and has recently been active in the Jana Sena Party, could help facilitate the collaboration.
Having previously directed mega stars like Chiranjeevi (Sye Raa), Allu Arjun (Race Gurram), and Ram Charan (Dhruva), Surender Reddy is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to make a strong comeback.
