Vijay Deverakonda Reacts to Court Order on MSG Reviews

Actor Vijay Deverakonda has reacted with mixed emotions to a recent court order that restricts film reviews and ratings for Chiranjeevi’s upcoming entertainer Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu on ticketing platforms. The move aims to curb organised negative campaigns and malicious rating practices that often target films around release time.
Directed by Anil Ravipudi, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is set to release on January 12 as a Sankranthi festive attraction. Responding to the development on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Vijay Deverakonda shared a candid note expressing both relief and disappointment.
He wrote that he felt happy knowing that the hard work, dreams, and financial investments of many people involved in the film are being protected to some extent. At the same time, he admitted feeling sad about the reality that such measures are needed because of people within the industry and audience who indulge in deliberate negativity. Questioning this mindset, Vijay asked what happened to the idea of “live and let live” and growing together as an industry.
The actor also recalled his own experiences, stating that he first became aware of organised attacks during the release of his film Dear Comrade. Vijay revealed that he had spoken about this issue in the past, but his concerns were often dismissed with the argument that “no one can stop a good film.” However, he pointed out that producers and directors who later collaborated with him eventually realised the seriousness and scale of the problem.
Vijay further shared that he has spent many sleepless nights wondering about the people behind such targeted negativity and how to deal with them, not just to protect his own dreams but also the aspirations of many others who come into the industry with hope. He concluded by saying that while such issues may not disappear completely, steps like these can at least reduce one major worry. For now, he wished MSG and all other Sankranthi releases great success in entertaining audiences during the festive season.
