Once upon a time, there used to be a trend, almost many present day heroes started their career as villains. From Chiranjeevi to Mohan Babu, Rajnikanth to Amitabh Bachchan, they have either played side characters with negative shade or full-pledged antagonist role. And now the trend has changed.
Senior heroes who are running out of time as stars are not retiring to homes like a Shoban Babu these days. They are finding other ways to make sure that their career will get extended for another decade or so. Firstly we have to appreciate Jagapathi Babu for taking the initiative of quitting the hero role and taking up villain characters. Otherwise, that would have led to a few flops and caused much emotional drain for him. He settled for both villain roles and also father characters.
Treading on the same path, another hero Srikanth, who has started his career as a sidekick villain, however, has now returned to his negative roots. He’s playing the role of lead villain in Naga Chaitanya’s this week releasing flick Yuddam Sharanam. With this film, Srikanth’s career is expected to take another big turn, towards more busy schedules.
Already another senior hero Rajasekhar confirmed that he’s ready to take up the villain job provided with the character-graph gives him right excitement. Other family heroes of yesteryear like Suman and Karthik also chose this path long back to became bad uncles for young heroes in Tollywood on the silver screen. That’s the story!!
