Tandur municipal chairperson is finding herself in a soup. Ever since, she impersonated on the polling day and cast the vote of her close relative, claiming it to be her vote, she is finding the going very tough. She has been thoroughly exposed by the opposition.
Now, following preliminary investigation, the Tandur police have registered a case against municipal chairperson Tatikonda Swapna. The Congress has filed a complaint with proofs with state election commissioner Sushank Goel. The SEC ordered an inquiry, which found that the allegations were true. Tatikota Swapna has used the vote of her close relative and had even posed for photographs. Later, examinations showed that though the name was the same, the name of the husband was different from that of Swapna’s husband.
On Saturday, she went to the municipal council only to be greeted by angry Congress workers, who shouted slogans against her. They demanded that she be immediately dismissed. Swapna’s case is turning out to be a headache for the TRS.
