Bollywood actress Shilpa Shirodkar is set to make her Tollywood debut with Jatadhara, marking her return to the big screen. In an exclusive interview with Deccan Chronicle, she shared insights about her film choices, family, and personal journey.

Talking about why she chose Jatadhara for her comeback, Shilpa expressed her excitement for the project, describing it as a supernatural thriller with a unique storyline. She mentioned that her character, Shobha, will be full of surprises and that taking on this role is a refreshing challenge for her.

When asked about directors she hopes to work with in Tollywood, Shilpa named SS Rajamouli, Sukumar, Shankar, Mani Ratnam, AR Murugadoss, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, and Atlee, emphasizing her admiration for their storytelling and direction. She also acknowledged the growing number of immensely talented filmmakers in the industry and her eagerness to collaborate with them.

Reflecting on her experience in Bigg Boss, she shared that the biggest lesson she learned was that it is impossible to please everyone. She stated that while some people judge and criticize, others show love and respect, but ultimately, staying true to oneself is the most important thing. She emphasized the need to own one’s choices—right or wrong—and move forward with confidence.

Shilpa also spoke about her recent recreation of a scene from DDLJ, calling it her all-time favorite film that always brings her joy. Additionally, she opened up about her weight loss journey, revealing that she lost 13 kgs since her participation in Bigg Boss. She attributed her transformation to controlled eating, limiting herself to two meals a day without mid-meal snacking, and drinking plenty of water.

Speaking about her bond with her sister Namrata Shirodkar, Shilpa described their relationship as deeply supportive and special. When asked about her admiration for her brother-in-law Mahesh Babu, she praised his kindness, calling him the sweetest person in the world. She highlighted his dedication and passion for his craft as qualities she truly respects.
