The dismissal of petition by YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy by the CBI special court seeking exemption from personal appearances in the trial court have made Telugu Desam Party leaders highly jubilant.
In the last 24 hours, at least half a dozen TDP leaders held press conferences and welcome the judgement, besides making wild allegations against Jagan. They have already started assuming that Jagan is going to jail again.
But YSRC spokesman C Ramachandraiah wondered why the TDP leaders are so jubilant as if Jagan had already gone to jail.
“The CBI court ruling is just a normal legal procedure which will be followed as we respect the law,” he said.
Ramachandraiah said Jagan had every right to appeal to the High Court on the CBI court ruling dismissing his petition seeking exemption on personally appearing before the court.
“The chief minister respects the law. On the other hand, despite audio-visual evidence in the cash of vote case, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu fled Hyderabad to save his skin. He was also accused of human rights violations several times,’ he said.
As the State is facing serious issues, the Chief Minister’s stay becomes necessary for administrative and other reasons and our viewpoint will be told to the High Court. TDP speaking in a tone and tenor giving slanted comments on the verdict has no meaning, he criticised.
