There is utter confusion in the TDP rank and file these days. The party leaders at various levels have gone silent. Massive victories by the YSRCP in panchayat, ZPTC, MPTC and urban local body polls have established it complete supremacy. Even in Tirupati, things are looking quite bleak.
Given this situation, the party leaders and cadres are in a state of confusion. Many leaders are looking towards Chandrababu Naidu, but the latter is not giving them any succor. Neither is the money coming from the party’s top leadership nor the moral support. As a result, many MLAs have now stopped criticizing or taking on the YSRCP. Instead, they are busy with their business enterprises. They are trying to keep their flock together and bide their time. With the government targeting the TDP workers by booking cases against them, the party leaders are of the opinion that it is better to lie low for some years.
Quite curiously, instead of motivating the party workers, even the top leaders of TDP are reportedly advising them to lie low. They are being asked not to go aggressive. More curiously, several senior leaders, who had enjoyed the power and pelf till 2019, are completely silent and are not extending any moral support to the party leaders in trouble.
