Teja Sajja has emerged as one of the most talked-about young actors in Telugu cinema. His 2024 Sankranti release Hanuman turned out to be a blockbuster, and many wondered if he could sustain that momentum. He proved the skeptics wrong with Mirai, which opened strong and received positive reviews. Now, all eyes are on his upcoming projects.
Teja is set to headline the sequel to Zombie Reddy, the 2021 sleeper hit directed by Prashant Varma. The original film, though made on a modest scale, performed well at the box office and went on to gain even more popularity on OTT and television.
While the sequel was initially expected to be produced by Naga Vamsi, the project has now shifted to TG Vishwa Prasad’s People Media Factory. Prashant Varma will handle the script and act as showrunner, while the director is yet to be officially announced. Reports, however, suggest that Bollywood filmmaker Suparn Verma — best known for The Family Man and Rana Naidu — is likely to take charge.
Interestingly, Zombie Reddy 2 is expected to go on floors before the much-awaited Mirai sequel, titled Mirai – Jaithraya. An official announcement about the film will be made soon.
A unique highlight of Teja Sajja’s career so far is that three of his films — Zombie Reddy, Hanuman, and Mirai — are all getting sequels. However, in the case of Jai Hanuman, the sequel to Hanuman, he won’t be leading the cast. Even so, his growing association with successful franchises is turning him into a bankable star of the new generation.
