Zombie Reddy, one of the first Telugu films set against a zombie backdrop, made waves with its satirical take on COVID-19, infused with the unique flavor of Rayalaseema. Now, a sequel is already in the works. Director Prashanth Varma is set to team up again with Teja Sajja for Zombie Reddy 2.
The makers aim to take the sequel to a whole new level, targeting both national and international audiences. Teja Sajja, who has recently gained nationwide recognition, shared, “Part two is going to be on another level, at an international standard. We are not missing out on fun. This time, we want to deliver a zombie film to international audiences. Usually, we watch international films, but now we are going to deliver one.”
Telugu cinema has increasingly gained international reach, and a zombie-themed film from the region is expected to attract attention from global audiences. With technical standards of Telugu films continually improving, the success of Teja’s Mirai could play a pivotal role in assembling the best resources for Zombie Reddy 2. His previous hit, HanuMan, has already added momentum to his growing career, making fans eagerly anticipate what’s next in this quirky zombie saga.
