Popular Telugu actor Srikanth, also known as Sriram in Tamil cinema, has been arrested by Tamil Nadu police in connection with a drug-related case. Unlike most celebrity drug scandals that fade after initial media attention, this case seems to be growing more serious with each new development.

According to reports, Sriram confessed in court to using narcotics, after which the judge denied him bail and sent him to judicial custody for 14 days. The actor was implicated after an investigation into a nightclub dispute involving a former AIADMK leader named Prasad. During questioning, Prasad revealed Sriram’s name, prompting police to probe further. Investigators discovered that Sriram allegedly purchased drugs from Prasad on nearly 40 different occasions.

Tamil Nadu police registered a case under three separate sections and interrogated Sriram for two hours at the Sungambakkam police station. Medical tests reportedly returned positive results twice, confirming the actor’s drug use. After this, Sriram was presented before a magistrate, who denied his bail despite Sriram’s plea that he had a child to care for.

In court, Sriram alleged that Prasad owed him Rs 10 lakh and would offer him cocaine whenever he came to collect his money. The actor confessed that he eventually became addicted.

This high-profile case has sent shockwaves across Tamil and Telugu film circles. With Sriram now behind bars and further inquiries ongoing, all eyes are on what developments emerge in the days to come.
