The trailer of the much-awaited movie Thalaivi starring Kangana Ranaut is out now. The trailer shows an inspiring story of late actor and former CM–J Jayalalithaa.
The trailer opens with a voice-over questioning how a film actor can be a great politician, especially in a man’s bastion. The video shows a glimpse of romantic scenes and moments of humour of Jayalalithaa.
It is MGR who promotes her into politics, ensuring that people will return her love one day. MGR says to her that if she will spread love, she will receive love in return. The video is also packed with some powerful moments like Jayalalithaa talking face-to-face to then PM Indira Gandhi in her debut speech in the Parliament in 1984.
Emotional scenes like Jayalithaa being fiercely attacked by the DMK members in the state assembly were also shown in the trailer. Finally, a potent dialogue comes from Kangana as she compares herself to Mahabharat’s Draupadi as she swears revenge.
The trailer is released in multiple languages, but the Hindi version is quite good compared to others. Directed by AL Vijay, the film also stars Aravind Swami, Prakash Raj, Jisshu Sengupta and Bhagyashree, among others. The film will hit the theatres on April 23.
