Mumbai: Rising star Monika Panwar has been honored with the prestigious IMDb “Breakout Star” STARmeter Award, based on data from the global entertainment platform that tracks the page views of over 250 million monthly IMDb visitors worldwide. This fan-driven recognition marks a major milestone in Panwar’s flourishing career.

The award celebrates Panwar’s growing popularity following her standout performance in the Prime Video horror web series Khauf, where she plays Madhu, a young woman navigating a new life in Delhi after moving from Gwalior. The gripping series has received critical acclaim and fan appreciation, earning an IMDb user rating of 7.5/10. Thanks to this breakout role, Panwar has featured in the top 10 of IMDb’s Popular Indian Celebrities list twice, including securing the No. 2 spot just two weeks ago.

Speaking on the honor, Monika said:
“I am a big, big fan of IMDb. For me, cinema and IMDb have always gone hand in hand. So, this is a very special award and my first as an actor. I believe the most important thing is when your work reaches people and they resonate with it. Since this award is fan-driven, I’m so glad they felt connected with my character in Khauf and have given so much love to our show. I’m very grateful for this.”

Panwar is best known for her roles in Jamtara: Sabka Number Ayega, Choona, and Gaanth: Chapter One: Jamnaa Paar. Her rise on IMDb reflects her growing impact in the industry and signals a promising future.

IMDb’s STARmeter Awards highlight emerging talent and are known for identifying future breakout stars. Past recipients include Zahan Kapoor, Kani Kusruti, Sharvari, Nitanshi Goel, Bhuvan Arora, and Adarsh Gourav, among others.
