Thaman Clarifies Game Changer Comments, Praises Ram Charan’s Dance

Renowned Telugu music composer Thaman, who has been juggling multiple projects this year, recently addressed speculation surrounding his comments on Ram Charan. Earlier, Thaman’s work in Game Changer, directed by Shankar, had generated significant anticipation. However, some fans felt the songs fell short of expectations.

After the film’s release, Thaman remarked that “without a proper hook step, it is hard for a song to become a hit today,” which some reports suggested was a critique of Ram Charan. Thaman has now clarified that his comments were directed at the choreography, not the actor.

Speaking to the media after the release of his latest film, They Call Him OG, Thaman stated that in the age of Instagram reels, strong hook steps are essential for songs to go viral. He cited hits like Premalo, Butta Bomma, Kavalavathi, and Laila O Laila as examples.

“Ram Charan is an amazing dancer. My problem was with the choreographers, not him. I composed Raa Macha for Charan, but the choreography did not match his talent, which disappointed fans. Ram Charan has always been supportive and appreciated my work in OG. Some people misrepresented my words,” Thaman explained.

He also revealed that the songs for Game Changer were composed in 2021 but were held back until 2024 without taking any profit. “Whatever I received from Dil Raju garu, I spent it all on the film,” he added.

Thaman’s latest soundtrack for They Call Him OG has been well received, reaffirming his reputation as one of Telugu cinema’s leading composers.
