Thaman Faces Pressure as Recent Songs Fail to Impress

Share

Thaman was once unstoppable — his songs dominated charts, his background scores became fan favourites, and every major star wanted him onboard. Even recently, his work for OG earned massive applause from Pawan Kalyan’s fans, with many crediting his thumping score as a major contributor to the film’s impact.

But along with the praise came criticism. Thaman was increasingly accused of delivering his best only for select stars like Pawan Kalyan and Nandamuri Balakrishna, while failing to recreate the same magic elsewhere. His music for Ram Charan’s Game Changer came under heavy trolling, and the songs from Telusu Kada did little to elevate the film’s buzz.

Shockingly, this time even Balakrishna hasn’t received the usual Thaman energy. “Jajikaya” from Akhanda 2 is struggling to catch on, with many saying it lacks a strong hook and is surviving mainly because of paid promotions. Fans expected a signature Balayya–Thaman blockbuster track but were left underwhelmed.

The trend continued with “Rebel Song,” the first single from The Raja Saab. Unlike the viral hits “Chikiri Chikiri” or OG’s title track, this song hasn’t ignited excitement among either Prabhas or Balayya fans.

With two massive films nearing release, Thaman now finds himself at a crucial crossroads. The industry and fans are watching closely to see whether he can bounce back with the musical brilliance he was once celebrated for.
