The Supreme Court once again shocks AP government, Nimmagadda it is!

The government of Andhra Pradesh is constantly being downplayed by the judicial system, be it the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, or the Supreme Court of India. Both the courts have managed to reject the pleas and petitions filed by the government, giving the exact opposite orders.

The case of Andhra Pradesh SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has been a hot topic in the state of Andhra Pradesh for the past few months, ever since the AP government removed him from his post by passing an ordinance. This was because Nimmagadda refused to conduct the local body elections in AP, citing the situation of Coronavirus in the country and in the state. This did not go down well with CM Jagan, because of which Nimmagadda was removed.

However, Nimmagadda approached the High Court, and the High Court ordered the government to reinstate Nimmagadda as the SEC. The government then approached the Supreme Court and requested for a stay order on the High Court’s decision. To the dismay of the government of AP, the Supreme Court refused to give a stay order on the High Court’s decision 3 times.

This did not stop the government from once again approaching the Supreme Court for a stay order. Now, the Supreme Court has once again refused to give a stay order, and told the government to follow the orders of the High Court. A few days ago, the High court ordered Nimmagadd to meet with the governor of AP, Biswabhushan Harischandan, and make sure that he is reinstated as the SEC.

Nimmagadda did exactly as the High Court ordered him to do, and the Governor even ordered the government to reinstate Nimmagadda as the SEC. However, the government refused to do so, waiting for the verdict from the Supreme Court. Now that the verdict of the Supreme Court is out, it is now to be seen what the government will do. If the government still fails to obey the court’s orders, then it will be considered as contempt of court.
