Sometimes two contrary reports appearing on same media’s publications surely going to push audiences into confusion. A similar thing is happening with “Tholiprema” movie and some media agencies. They say this Varun Tej and Raashi Khanna starrer is the first blockbuster of 2018 on one hand and other side they add that Dil Raju is losing money on Tholiprema as well. How come a blockbuster will dent pockets of the distributor?
Reality is that Tholiprema opened to mind-blowing collections right from Day One and the film collected almost 18+ crores share in its one-week run at the box office. And then, figures are strong even on second Monday (today) if we have to talk by footfalls at theatres. In all likelihood, the film is going to collect nearly 25-29 crores share from box office even if some other film becomes a blockbuster next Friday. But until Rangasthalam’s release on March 30th, there are not many hyped films that could really halt the good run of films like Tholiprema and Bhaagamthie as well.
Now, some media agencies are seen explaining that Dil Raju bought the whole theatrical rights of Tholiprema for 18 crores and he’s going to end up in losses. Already Raju got managed around 21.2 crores share after 9 days run and with himself being distributor he would be getting nearly 29 crores ‘nett’ from the total 40+ crores gross collections. So in what way Dil Raju is getting unlucky with this movie? Surely this is a sort of crying on the happening producer, isn’t it?
We hear that many media agencies are upset with Dil Raju and hence this negative branding on him. They say that Raju is the one who formed a syndicate (LLP) and giving ads to only four top TV channels and two Newspapers but completely avoiding others. For that reason, the other media houses are stressing that Tholiprema is a hit but Raju is burning hands.
Whether Raju gives ads or not, what will happen to journalistic ethics if media folks continue to paint a truth as a lie? Think about it.
