Talented hero Kiran Abbavaram who gained good craze among the youth with one film is doing everything he can to spoil it now. People who loved him for his hard work and natural acting in ‘SR Kalyanamandapam’ are now feeling that its success did more harm to this hero. He is trying to please the masses repeatedly and coming up with commercial entertainers that do not have an interesting story or narration. He trying to inject unnecessary mass scenes in youthful love stories too which is backfiring badly.
His recent release ‘Nenu Meeku Baaga Kaavalisinavadini’ is the best example of it. Kiran Abbavaram has a lot of energy but the audience will find it tough to accept him as a complete mass hero at this stage of his career. Though there are fights in his previous movies, he did not try to go overboard. But he tried to pull off a fight scene in lungi like Balakrishna or Prabhas or NTR in this film which did not go down well with the audience. The story had nothing special and the screenplay fell flat. Kiran himself wrote the screenplay and dialogues but he faltered with his pen.
It is not tough for Kiran to score a hit if he comes up with scripts that suit his body language. Masses don’t flock into the theatres if he remixes Chiru and Balayya’s songs. The openings of ‘Sammathame’ showcased that he is in a danger zone and ‘NMBK’ may end up getting even less money. Barring a few main centers, the bookings were not encouraging and with the film getting negative talk, there is no chance of recovery according to reports.

Varanasi Faces IMAX Challenge Ahead of 2027 Release
July 16, 2026

Varanasi, directed by S. S. Rajamouli, is already being regarded as one of the most anticipated Indian films of 2027. Following the global success of RRR, trade experts expect the film to enjoy a phenomenal overseas run. However, one factor that could influence its international box office performance is the competition for IMAX screens.
Unlike many films that undergo IMAX conversion after production, Varanasi is reportedly being designed and filmed specifically to maximize the IMAX format, promising a premium cinematic experience. However, the release window is shaping up to be highly competitive in international markets. Hollywood blockbusters such as Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, scheduled for March 26, 2027, and Panic Carefully, releasing on April 9, 2027, have already secured IMAX releases. More major studio films are also expected to join the calendar, increasing competition for premium large-format screens.
Since IMAX and other premium screens generate a significant share of revenue for event films, limited screen availability in key overseas markets could slightly impact Varanasi’s earning potential. While the film is unlikely to face issues in securing standard screens, the allocation of IMAX screens during its April 7, 2027 release period will be an important factor that the makers will be closely watching.
The situation is equally interesting in India, where the number of genuine IMAX theatres remains limited. Although several multiplexes promote IMAX auditoriums, only a handful offer the complete IMAX experience. This has led to discussions about whether additional IMAX screens, particularly in major cities like Hyderabad, could be introduced before Varanasi reaches theatres. With the film promising a visually spectacular experience, expanding premium-screen infrastructure could benefit both audiences and exhibitors. How the IMAX landscape evolves over the coming months will be crucial in determining the film’s premium-format reach.
