While the Telangana people are all set for the GHMC polls which will take place tomorrow, the AP political circles have already started speculating about the Tirupati by-polls. It is being said that the Dubbaka result in Telangana took as a warning by the AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy.
There are close similarities between Dubbaka in Telangana and the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election in AP. Dubbaka MLA Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy died due to corona virus. Tirupati YCP MLA Balli Durga Prasad Rao also died with Corona. In Dubbaka, Solipeta won as an MLA with a huge majority of 67,000. In Tirupati, Balli also won with a majority of 2.28 lakh.
Jagan is really baffled with the Dubbaka result as TRS which took the by-elections lightly was hit enormously at the end. Hence, in this order, a review was held with ministers and MLAs on the selection of the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election candidate. On this occassion, Jagan is said to have referred to the bitter experience faced by TRS in Dubbaka.
Jagan has given a stern warning that there is growing opposition in Telangana against KCR, even warned his leaders about its ill-effects. In fact, when the YCP candidate got a huge majority of 2.28 lakh while he was in the Opposition, Jagan was of the view that he should get much more majority in the by-elections to be held as they are in power at the moment.
But, Jagan should remind that instead of freebie schemes there is not much development happened in AP and the increasing debts are threatening the economy of the state in future. If Jagan thinks that his welfare schemes would save him, he is definitely in the same page with KCR.
In Dubbaka, in addition to KCR’s negligence, BJP’s candidate Raghunandan Rao won due to public opposition to the government. The TRS has a good chance of winning the by-election despite popular opposition to the KCR regime. Yet all is spoiled by mere negligence. Jagan may face the same fate at the end of the day and if it comes to the honest review of the Jagan’s 1 year rule, the result could be tragic for the ruling party.
