Superstar Mahesh Babu unveiled the title of happening hero Siva Karthikeyan’s next project ‘Mahaveerudu’. The title announcement was done through a video and it is quite creative. Releasing it on Twitter, Mahesh said, “Happy to unveil the title of @Siva_Kartikeyan ‘s #Maaveeran! Best wishes to the entire team! #Mahaveerudu @madonneashwin @ShanthiTalkies @iamarunviswa bharathsankar12 @vidhu_ayyanna @philoedit.” The movie is named ‘Mahaveeran’ and it is going to be dubbed in Telugu as ‘Mahaveerudu’.
Interestingly, the maker released a part of the fight sequence from the movie. This kind of promotion is usually done for Hollywood films but South Indian films rarely adopted this strategy. A few actors like Vijay Anthony and Vishal tried it earlier but it did not work out as desired. We need to see if Siva Karthikeyan becomes successful with it or not.
In the video, we are introduced to Siva Kartikeya as a guy who is getting beaten by the goons badly. He is then presented with ropes tied to his hands like a puppet. The puppetry and the caricature presentation are a very unique idea of choreographing this action sequence. He slowly gets up beats a guy and then releases himself from the ropes. He is introduced in the comic book style. The movie makers definitely created a very positive impression with this action sequence.
News is that Kiara Advani may play the heroine’s role while acclaimed director Mysskin plays a key role. The shooting is going to start soon. Madonne Ashwin is the writer and director of this film which will be produced by Arun VIswa. Bharath Sankar and Vidhu Ayyanna are taking care of the music and camera departments respectively while Philmon Raj is the editor.

Salman Khan Responds to Criticism Over Battle of Galwan Look
January 31, 2026

Actor Salman Khan has dismissed online criticism surrounding his look in the upcoming film Battle of Galwan, stating that his appearance is in line with the character he portrays. Speaking at the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) event in Surat on Friday, the actor said he plays a Colonel in the film, and the look reflects the responsibility of leading and motivating soldiers.
A video shared by a fan account on X showed the 60-year-old actor interacting with former cricketer and commentator Mohammad Kaif. During the conversation, Kaif jokingly asked Salman Khan to recreate his pose from the film’s first teaser, which was released on the actor’s birthday last month. After striking the pose, Salman addressed the criticism with humour. He said that while some may see it as a romantic look, he is portraying a Colonel, and the appearance represents someone who understands how to inspire and guide his men.
Letting out a roar, Salman further added that such criticism does not really matter and that discussions around his look have always existed and will continue, with the blessings of his fans.
Battle of Galwan is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between India and China and is directed by Apoorva Lakhia of Shootout at Lokhandwala fame. The much-anticipated film is scheduled to release in theatres on April 17 and also stars Chitrangada Singh in a key role.
Earlier, in an interview with PTI in July last year, Salman Khan described Battle of Galwan as one of the most physically demanding films of his career. He said that with age, preparing for such roles has become increasingly challenging and now requires much more time and training. The actor noted that the film demanded intense physical preparation, including running, kicking, and action sequences, which were significantly tougher compared to his previous roles. He also highlighted the challenges of shooting in Ladakh, dealing with high altitudes and cold water conditions, making the experience even more demanding.
