Tollywood-AP Govt Meeting Postponed Indefinitely

A crucial meeting that was scheduled to take place today (June 15) between key members of the Telugu film industry and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, along with Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, has been postponed indefinitely. The meeting was set to be held in Amaravati.

According to the latest reports, the postponement came after several senior actors and top producers, including Megastar Chiranjeevi, cited unavailability due to outdoor film shoots. With many prominent stars unable to attend, the decision was taken to defer the meeting to a later date.

The meeting was expected to address key issues concerning the industry, such as the ongoing ticket pricing challenges and other regulatory matters. It was also seen as a follow-up to Pawan Kalyan’s recent sharp remarks about certain producers and exhibitors, whom he accused of deliberately orchestrating theater shutdowns prior to the release of his long-delayed film Hari Hara Veera Mallu.

In a strongly worded open letter to the Telugu film fraternity, Pawan Kalyan expressed disappointment that no prominent member from the industry had met with CM Chandrababu Naidu after his return to power in June last year. Declaring an end to individual lobbying, Pawan emphasized that all future discussions with the government should be routed strictly through the Film Chamber.

While the proposed meeting was poised to reset the dynamic between the state government and the film industry, its indefinite postponement has left many awaiting clarity on when these vital discussions will eventually take place.
