Tollywood Star Pawan Kalyan’s ‘They Call Him OG’ Faces Ticket Rate Suspension in Telangana

Tollywood’s Power Star and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s stylish action drama, They Call Him OG, enjoyed a strong extended weekend at the global box office.

In the Nizam region, OG registered impressive collections during its four-day theatrical run, largely driven by hiked ticket prices. Premiere shows were capped at Rs 800, single-screen tickets were priced at Rs 227, and multiplex tickets at Rs 445.

Despite expectations of a price drop after the first weekend, Nizam distributors maintained the elevated ticket rates on Monday. However, the Telangana government issued a shock directive on Monday evening, ordering the immediate suspension of the ticket hike G.O. All single screens and multiplexes across the state must now remove the special price hikes for OG tickets with immediate effect.

Following the new government order, ticket prices for OG are expected to be reduced to Rs 175 for single screens and Rs 295 for multiplexes. The move aims to ensure a steady and extended theatrical run for the film, which is already nearing its break-even point. The Telangana High Court had previously expressed serious concerns over the state government’s approval of the OG ticket hike G.O.
