Conventionally, Bollywood heroines have always commanded higher remuneration than their South Indian counterparts, but the trend is slowly changing. Recent reports highlight the rising market value of South Indian actresses, showcasing their nationwide appeal and growing earning potential.
At the top of the list is Nayanthara, who reportedly charges around ₹15 crore per film, making her the most expensive actress in South Indian cinema. Following her is Sai Pallavi, earning approximately ₹20 crore for both parts of the upcoming Ramayana movie and around ₹13 crore for other projects. Her consistent performances and surging popularity have contributed to this impressive rise.
In third place is Tamannaah Bhatia, who is reportedly earning close to ₹10 crore for her recent projects. The report exclusively focuses on South Indian actresses, excluding Bollywood stars such as Kiara Advani, Janhvi Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Alia Bhatt.
The figures, while based on media reports and not officially confirmed, clearly indicate a significant shift in the Indian film industry. South Indian actresses are now commanding strong pay scales, reflecting their growing influence and recognition across the country.
