The selection process of the next Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC) chief posed a great task to the Delhi leadership of Congress as several young leaders and senior leaders are hoping to get the post.
Despite facing heavy competition, two young and dynamic leaders Malkajgiri MP Revanth Reddy and Bhongir Lok Sabha member Komtireddy Venkat Reddy reached the final stage and the duo is reportedly facing competition with each other.
While the Congress leadership is reportedly in favor of Revanth Reddy, senior leaders in Telangana Congress are against him. V. Hanumantha Rao even threatened to leave the party if Revanth is made TPCC chief.
A sudden twist in the tale came when Komtireddy Venkat Reddy’s brother Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy announcing that he would join the saffron party BJP very soon.
Reports claimed that Rajgopal Reddy’s move cost Venkat Reddy big time as some leaders are opposing Venkat Reddy as the new TPCC chief. The leaders are questioning a leader who cannot stop his brother from leaving other parties can convince other leaders to stay in the party.
It is believed that Revanth Reddy’s confidence in winning the TPCC post has doubled with the negative image Komatireddy gained with his brother’s surprising move.
Looks like Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy’s decision to shift his loyalties to the saffron party BJP has indirectly benefited Revanth Reddy in the race for the TPCC post.
