After delivering two back to back hits – Premam and Ra Randoi Veduka Chooddam, it was expected of Naga Chaitanya to amass record opening day numbers with his new release. Well, the opening day collections of his new film, ‘Yuddham Sharanam’ are truly shocking.
As per trade reports, YS collected a meager worldwide share of Rs 1.9 Cr on its opening day, which is very poor considering Naga Chaitanya’s image and his recent track record. The film somehow failed to generate pre-release buzz and was expected to rake in low collection, but not as low as these numbers.
Below is the area-wise break-up:
Nizam – 58,45,000
Ceded – 18,00,000
Nellore – 4,50,000
Guntur – 13,00,000
Krishna – 12,40,000
West – 6,50,000
East – 14,50,000
Uttharandhra – 19,20,000
Total 1st day AP & TS Share – 1.47 Cr
Total 1st Day Worldwide Share – 1.9 Cr (gross 4.2 Cr).
The occupancy on Saturday wasn’t great either. The film was made on moderate budget, but it looks like even that amount is hard to be recovered.
