Geeta Govindam which released amidst expectations, managed to break even on day 1 and entered into profits range on day 2.And from the on-going collections, it is pretty obvious that the film will have very good collections during this weekend.For now, the trade is estimating that the film will cross Arjun Reddy collections by the end of this week.
Last week saw the release of Nithin-Dil Raju’s Srinivasa Kalyanam. The film was a disaster from the word go. While the team hoped to make Rs 30 crore from the film, it is doubtful if the film will make at least half of it.If GG got bad reviews then, there would have been damage control for Srinivasa Kalyanam. But with GG becoming a hit, there are no viewers for Nithin’s wedding saga.
On the other hand, Goodhachari has done good business since it’s release. If GG was postponed for a while, it would have taken home more profits. Still, the film is doing steady business even in centres. In all, it has entered the profit zone.
To wrap up, Geeta Govindam has surely surprised all by making all its money on day 1.
