Kantara: Chapter 1, the much-anticipated prequel to the blockbuster Kantara, continues to generate immense buzz across the country. Starring Rishab Shetty once again in the lead role, the film has become one of the most talked-about projects in Indian cinema, with the production team investing heavily to meet the high expectations. However, the film’s journey has unfortunately been marred by a couple of tragic incidents.
According to recent reports, a mimicry artist named Viju, who was associated with the film’s production, tragically passed away due to a suspected heart attack. The incident occurred near Agumbe in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district. Viju, hailing from Kerala, had been staying in Agumbe along with the film unit during the shoot. On Wednesday night, he reportedly experienced chest pain and was immediately rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
This heartbreaking loss marks the second untimely death linked to Kantara: Chapter 1. Just last month, on May 7, a junior artist named M.F. Kapil tragically drowned in the Souparnika river in Udupi district while working on the film.
These unfortunate events have cast a shadow over the otherwise highly awaited project, creating an air of concern among the team and fans. So far, the film’s production house, Hombale Films, has not released any official statement confirming Viju’s direct involvement in the project or addressing these incidents.
Despite these setbacks, Kantara: Chapter 1 remains one of the most eagerly awaited films, and the team is continuing to work towards delivering a cinematic experience that lives up to the expectations set by its predecessor.
