The recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has left 27 people dead, marking one of the most devastating incidents of terrorism against the Indian civilian population. As previously reported, a Vizag native was among the victims. Now, new developments reveal that Madhusudan Somisetty, a native of Kavali in Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, and currently residing in Bengaluru, was also tragically killed in the attack.
Madhusudan was visiting Kashmir with his family when the terrorists opened fire. He was struck in the attack and died on the spot. Originally from Nellore, Madhusudan’s relocation to Bengaluru with his family had shocked relatives and friends in both cities.
In another distressing update, around 80 Telugu-speaking people who were on vacation in Jammu and Kashmir are currently stranded in a private hotel in Srinagar, following the attack. The group is now anxiously awaiting their safe return. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has briefed the authorities about the situation, and a special assistance group has been formed to ensure their safe passage. A dedicated desk for handling inquiries has also been set up at the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in Delhi.
With the Government of India actively working on the matter, there is hope that all the stranded tourists will be safely transported back from Jammu and Kashmir soon.
