Triptii Dimri is refusing to play it safe in her career. After gaining widespread attention for her bold and impactful presence in Animal, she’s now eyeing a completely different trajectory—action films and villainous roles. While she first impressed audiences with her performances in Bulbbul and Qala, Animal pushed her into the mainstream spotlight. But instead of sticking to familiar territory, Triptii is eager to reinvent herself.
In a recent interaction while promoting her upcoming film Dhadak 2, Triptii revealed her desire to break away from romantic and emotional characters. She expressed interest in physically demanding roles where action conveys the emotions rather than lengthy dialogues. Interestingly, she’s particularly keen on exploring characters with grey shades — roles that challenge the audience’s perception of a typical “villain.”
Triptii remarked, “These roles are intense and deeply layered. I want to play characters who aren’t always likeable, who make you think. That’s where the real challenge lies.” This marks a refreshing shift in her career, embracing risk over comfort.
Speaking about Dhadak 2, slated for release on August 1, Triptii shared that the role reminded her of her own college days, as she plays a student in the film. She also mentioned that working with Siddhant Chaturvedi was enjoyable and easy, thanks to their on-set chemistry. While the film will showcase a softer, youthful side of her, Triptii’s clear focus is on diversifying her portfolio — and her next move definitely won’t be predictable.
