Trouble piles up for KCR in the form of Dubbaka by-elections

All was seemingly going well for the TRS party, despite the situation of Coronavirus becoming more and more troublesome in the state. Exactly when no one thought things could get worse, the TRS MLA of Dubbaka, S Ramalinga Reddy had passed away suddenly due to cardiac arrest, leaving the seat of Dubbaka very much open, and problematically so.

The Dubbaka by-elections will be held on 3rd November, while the counting of votes will take place on 10th November. On the other hand, the notification for Dubbaka by-elections will be given on October 9th, the nominations should be placed on or before October 16th, and the last date for withdrawing nominations would be October 19th.

The TRS is in for a huge fight with the oppositions, who are trying their best to claim Dubbaka by bringing to the forefront all the aspects in which the TRS government has failed so far – namely handling the situation of Coronavirus, proper roads throughout the state, and many more. And while this continues to be at large a very threatening scenario for the ruling party, differences between TRS itself is turning out to be another problem.

A section of the TRS members are eager for KCR to let Ramalinga Reddy’s son Satish Reddy to contest in the elections, while another section is eager to see Cheruku Muthyam Reddy’s son Srinivas Reddy contest and win in the by-elections. While these sections are trying their best to get the ticket confirmed for their choice, KCR is said to be having totally different thoughts.

KCR is said to be preferring a new candidate and a well educated person to contest in the by-elections, and his choice is said to be Siddipet District collector Venkatram Reddy. Venkatram Reddy has been trying to get into politics for quite some time now, but nothing has failed to materialise. With the Dubbaka by-elections now suddenly cropping up, several political analysts say that Venkatram Reddy could indeed be a strong contender for the Dubbaka seat.

With every party already having started to heavily campaign in Dubbaka already, it is now to be seen what decision KCR will take.
