Two of the three Sankranthi 2017 releases – Gautamiputra Satakarni and Sathamanam Bhavathi were premiered on TV recently and they have recorded surprising TRP ratings.
Dil Raju and Sharwanand’s family entertainer, ‘Sathamanam Bhavathi’ was the true blockbuster of Sankranthi festival given how effectively the small film sustained the competition from two biggies and collected close to Rs 30 Cr share on a meager budget of Rs 6 crore.
When the film made its first premier on TV this Sunday, it reportedly recorded a TRP rating of 15.44, which is extraordinary. The adualtion people shown on this film during its stay in theatres, continued on TV as well.
On the other hand, Balakrishna’s landmark film Gautamiputra Satakarni, which also performed good at box office and became the first Rs 50 Cr film of the senior hero, has received a rather cold welcome on TV. The historical film, which was telecast on the eve of Ugadi festival on Star MAA, could fetch a TRP rating of only 5.5
