Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president and Nalgonda MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday challenged Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders to show that the government had taken up even a single development work in Huzurnagar since 2014.
Interacting with people of Huzurnagar through social media platforms, Uttam said entire development in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency was brought only during Congress regime.
He said that the Congress party would withdraw from contest if TRS showed its contribution in development of Huzurnagar.
He said after getting elected as MLA for the first time from Huzurnagar in 2009, he resolved the problem of low voltage and improved the conditions of roads.
Uttam said that the construction of nearly 4,000 houses for weaker sections in Huzurnagar Town and Mandal was initiated at a cost of Rs 200 crore.
He said nearly 80% of the houses were completed during Congress rule. However, the TRS Government could not complete remaining 20% works in the last six years.
The TPCC chief said it was due to the revenge politics that the TRS Government did not take up a single development programme in Huzurnagar. He said he was ready for an open debate on the issue of development of Huzurnagar.
The Nalgonda MP said the TRS leaders were afraid of defeat in Huzurnagar as was evident from their request with the CPI to support the TRS candidate.
He said that the CPI must support the Congress to protect the interest the people of Telangana.
He also appealed to TDP and CPI (M) to withdraw from contest in favour of Congress party.
