Gopichandh Malineni has a good track record. Barring ‘Winner’, most of his movies did well at the box office. Movies like ‘Don Seenu’, ‘Krack’ and ‘Balupu’ with Ravi Teja were very good hits. His recent outing ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ turned out to be a profitable venture as well.
On the other hand, there is Bobby Kolli who made his debut with Ravi Teja’s ‘Power’ and directed hit movies like ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ and ‘Venky Mama’. His recent film ‘Waltair Veerayya’ turned out to be a huge hit and ended up in a lot of profits.
Interestingly, both these directors who scored hits this Sankranti season are yet to announce their next projects. Apparently, they are not able to find young heroes to work with. Most of the younger lot are focusing on pan-Indian projects and they are committed to one or two films already. Both Bobby and Gopichandh are known for their commercial entertainers that are well packaged but run on a predictable note.
Sources say that they have no option but to look toward senior heroes again. If reports are to be believed, they are aiming to exchange their respective last film heroes. Apparently, Gopichandh Malineni is trying to convince Megastar Chiranjeevi with a compelling story while Bobby is trying to do the same with Nandamuri Balakrishna. If this doesn’t work out, they have no other option but to turn towards their trusted hero Ravi Teja once again.
We need to wait and see who becomes the hero of their next projects. It looks like the options are quite limited for these two hit directors.
