In a significant move to enhance travel and business ties between India and the UAE, the UAE has expanded its visa-on-arrival facility for Indian passport holders. The update eliminates the need for pre-approved visas for many travelers and introduces the option of visa-on-arrival for those with valid residency permits from additional countries. This expansion makes travel to the UAE more accessible and convenient.
Eligible Countries for Residency Permit Holders
The visa-on-arrival facility will now apply to Indian nationals holding valid residency permits, Green Cards, or visas from the following countries:
Australia
Canada
Japan
New Zealand
Singapore
South Korea
Previously, visa-on-arrival was available only for Indian travelers holding valid US, UK, or EU visas or residency permits. The expansion of eligible countries reflects the UAE’s ongoing commitment to strengthening international travel and business relations, particularly with India.
Entry Requirements
To avail of the visa-on-arrival facility, travelers must meet the following criteria:
Valid Passport: The Indian passport must be valid for at least six months.
Residency Permit: A valid residency permit, Green Card, or visa from one of the eligible countries mentioned above.
Visa Fees: Travelers will need to pay applicable fees as per UAE regulations. The visa fees are as follows:
14-Day Visa: AED 100, with the option to extend for an additional 14 days at an additional cost of AED 250.
60-Day Visa: AED 250.
How to Avail of the Visa-on-Arrival Facility
To obtain the visa upon arrival, travelers should:
Arrive in the UAE with a valid Indian passport.
Present the valid residency permit from one of the eligible countries.
Receive the visa stamp at any UAE entry point, including Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central.
This update offers a more streamlined and efficient travel experience for Indian nationals, facilitating easier access to the UAE for both tourism and business purposes.
With this development, the UAE further cements its position as a global hub for international travelers and enhances its connectivity with key markets, including India.
