Planning a multi-country Gulf trip could soon become far simpler. The Unified GCC Visa, expected to launch in the near future, will allow travellers to visit several Gulf states using a single permit instead of applying for separate visas for each country.
Officials suggest the visa may be priced between $90 and $130 (Dh330–Dh480), depending on duration and whether travellers choose single-entry or multi-entry access. The multi-entry “GCC Grand Tour” visa is expected to allow stays ranging from 30 to 90 days across participating states.
How Current Gulf Visas Compare
At present, travellers still need individual e-visas for each GCC nation:
Saudi Arabia: ~SAR535 (Dh525) for a 1-year multiple-entry visa with 90-day stays allowed per visit.
Kuwait: Visa-on-arrival for many GCC residents, though online services may cost Dh250–Dh300.
Oman: Among the most affordable at OMR5 (Dh48) for 28-day single-entry GCC Resident e-Visas.
Qatar: QAR100 (Dh100–105) e-Visa for 30-day stay; some nationalities enjoy visa-free access.
Bahrain: BD29 (Dh284) for single-entry; BD77 (Dh756) for 3-month multiple-entry permits.
Visa costs vary based on entry type, stay duration, insurance requirements, and nationality eligibility.
A Schengen-Style Travel Model for the Gulf
The Unified GCC Visa aims to enable seamless travel across member states, similar to Europe’s Schengen system. For tourists, frequent fliers, and business travellers, it could reduce paperwork, cut costs, and encourage regional tourism.
Once launched, the visa is expected to sit mid-range in price compared to current Gulf visas, while opening the door to smooth multi-country weekend and holiday trips.
