Vignesh Shivan Emotional Note on Love Insurance Kompany Success

Vignesh Shivan, who is also the husband of Lady Superstar Nayanthara, has shared an emotional note expressing gratitude to audiences for their response to his recent film Love Insurance Kompany (LIK). Despite the film not achieving the massive box office expectations he had initially envisioned, the filmmaker stated that he is neither broken nor shaken, but rather proud of the journey.
Taking to his Instagram, Vignesh Shivan penned his thoughts in a poetic and heartfelt manner, reflecting on his experience with the film’s release. He wrote that he had come with a big dream — not a small or safe one — but a strong belief that the story would resonate widely and create a strong impact in cinemas.
He further shared that he had imagined massive applause in theatres, loud laughter, and overwhelming celebrations. While some of those moments did come true, the film did not reach the benchmark of ₹100 crore as he had hoped. He admitted that, honestly, he had even expected double of that figure, but acknowledged that things did not fully align as planned.
Even though there was a sense of disappointment regarding the final outcome, the director emphasized that he remains content because, for him, the very release of the film itself feels like a victory. He expressed that he had expected appreciation calls and messages from people he deeply admires, but reality turned out differently, with mixed reactions, measured responses, and more questions than praise.
Despite that, Vignesh Shivan made it clear that he is not disheartened. Instead, he stands proud of the effort behind the film, recalling the unseen struggles, sleepless nights, emotional pressure, and countless obstacles faced during the making process. According to him, only he and God truly know what it took to bring the film to the screen.
Speaking about the box office performance, he noted that the film has collected over ₹70 crore, which may not be the biggest number, but it is “real and earned.” He also mentioned that a significant portion of the revenue came after initial doubts and average talk surrounded the film.
Concluding his note, Vignesh Shivan expressed deep gratitude to the audience for their messages, long appreciation notes, and even criticism, stating that he is continuously learning and will continue to grow from every experience.
