Eminent director SS Rajamouli’s next film RRR is one of the most happening projects of Tollywood. We’ve earlier informed our reader that the film’s pre-release business has been almost closed.
However, the latest reports suggest that the USA distributor, who paid a huge amount as an advance to the main overseas distributor is demanding the money back. A source close to the RRR team revealed to us that the film’s overseas rights along with the USA were sold off to a global distribution for the whopping Rs 75 crore. It is learned that the firm recently sold off the USA rights to a distribution company and took about Rs 4 crore as advance.
The USA distributor is reportedly seeking their money back due to a delay in the film’s release. The makers have made an agreement that the film would either release on July 30, 2020, or January 8, 2021. But due to the coronavirus outbreak, the film’s shooting has been halted for three months, as a result RRR release date has been pushed ahead.
The latest reports suggest that the distributors are mainly bothering that they may not recover the big amounts as per the agreement due to the global recession period due to COVID-19. Well, let us wish everything goes smoothly.
On the other hand, Rajamouli is making plans to resume a two-day trail shoot from June 15th at RFC with a limited crew and cast (without leading actors).
