Ustaad Bhagat Singh has officially been declared a box office disaster, with director Harish Shankar himself acknowledging the film’s disappointing performance.
Despite carrying massive expectations prior to release, the film failed to impress audiences and struggled at the box office, ultimately unable to recover its production costs. With weak collections and poor word of mouth, its theatrical run has come to an underwhelming end.
There has been significant discussion within industry circles about the financial losses faced by the producers. Early estimates suggest that the losses, including interest, could be in the range of ₹80–90 crore, making it one of the biggest setbacks of the year.
Following The Raja Saab, this film is now being counted among the major box office failures, surprising many given the hype surrounding the project.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and starring Pawan Kalyan in the lead, Ustaad Bhagat Singh is now set for its OTT release from April 16, hoping to find a better response in the digital space.
