When a hit film arrives on OTT, it usually generates strong buzz with heavy promotions, discussions, and audience reactions. Even underperforming films often trend again due to memes and trolling after their digital release.
However, the case of Ustaad Bhagat Singh has turned out to be quite different. The film, which received a poor response in theatres and faced significant criticism during its theatrical run, has now been released on OTT. Surprisingly, instead of renewed trolling or debate, the film has seen very little attention online.
Unlike typical OTT releases, there is almost no noticeable buzz on social media. Discussions, reviews, and audience reactions appear to be minimal, indicating that both general viewers and even fans have largely ignored the film’s digital release.
Interestingly, despite this muted response, Netflix had mounted a strong promotional campaign for the film. A separate trailer was released, highlighting mass dialogues such as “Power has no limits, Ustaad’s rampage has no boundaries” and “When Ustaad arrives, it feels like Ugadi again,” aiming to build hype among viewers.
However, even with aggressive marketing, the film has failed to create any significant impact on OTT platforms, making its digital run equally underwhelming compared to its theatrical performance.
