The sudden reappearance of Vangaveeti Asha Kiran, daughter of slain Kapu leader Vangaveeti Ranga, has generated significant buzz in Andhra Pradesh’s political circles. After years of maintaining distance from public and political activities, Asha Kiran stepped into the spotlight on Sunday to pay tributes to her father and express her intention to reconnect with the public.
Speaking to the media, she stated that although she had been away from public life, she now plans to dedicate herself to addressing people’s issues. While she did not explicitly confirm entering active politics, Asha Kiran emphasized her commitment to standing by the public in difficult times.
She further revealed that she would participate in various programmes organised by the Radha–Ranga Mitra Mandali, indicating an inclination toward continuing her father’s legacy.
According to sources, the YSRCP has been making strong efforts to bring Asha Kiran into active politics, aiming to consolidate the Kapu vote bank. Previous attempts by the party to bring her brother, Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, back into its fold were unsuccessful, making Asha Kiran’s renewed public presence particularly noteworthy.
