Ivy Entertainment Takes PMF to Court Over ₹218 Crore The Raja Saab Investment
The high-stakes drama of Telugu cinema has now entered the courtroom, as Delhi-based Ivy Entertainment has approached the Delhi High Court against Hyderabad’s People Media Factory (PMF) and its directors. The dispute revolves around the much-anticipated Prabhas starrer, The Raja Saab, with Ivy demanding a refund of its ₹218 crore investment along with 18% annual interest, citing multiple breaches of contract.
Court documents allege that PMF delayed production and release, failed to provide monthly updates, withheld details on fund utilization, and did not deliver promised materials. Ivy also points to repeated, unexplained postponements of the film’s theatrical release, which, according to them, triggered termination clauses in their agreements.
Under two agreements signed in early 2023, Ivy claims it had acquired worldwide theatrical and non-theatrical rights, co-presenter credits, and guaranteed returns. The petition also names post-production vendors and seeks an injunction to prevent exploitation of the film’s rights without Ivy’s permission.
Despite the ongoing legal battle, Ivy asserts it intends to complete and release The Raja Saab itself to safeguard its investment. The horror-comedy is reportedly being made on a ₹400 crore budget.
