Treat Williams is a name that needs no introduction for movie lovers who are familiar with Hollywood films. Over the decades he has been entertaining movie lovers with films, and TV shows. The veteran actor also bagged a few awards. In what could be a piece of bad news for his fans, the ace actor breathed his last.
As per the American media, Treat Williams met with an accident and sustained serious injuries. He was shifted to the nearby hospital. But the actor could not make it and breathed his last while undergoing treatment. He was hit by a car.
The accident was reported from Route 30 when a car driven by a youth turned into the actor. Treat Williams was on a motorcycle and wore a helmet. Despite this, he could not be saved and breathed his last. He is 71.
The cops reached the spot after learning the issue. They said that the investigation is in the early stages and more details will be announced soon. They are suspecting that the car driver might have turned the vehicle without noticing the bike driven by the actor.
Barry McPherson, who worked with the actor for around 15 years announced the news and said that what happened is a big shock and the actor is a nice guy. Talking about the actor’s acting skills, he said that he is an actor’s actor and the filmmakers loved him.
“I’m just devastated. He was the nicest guy. He was so talented. He was an actor’s actor. Filmmakers loved him. He’s been the heart of the Hollywood since the late 1970s. He was really proud of his performance this year. He’s been so happy with the work that I got him. He’s had a balanced career,†Barry McPherson said.
He made his acting debut in 1975 with the thriller film Deadly Hero, but his career picked up in the late 70s, and the musical Hair and Steven Spielberg’s 1941 made him a popular name. After starring a few successful and iconic films he shifted his focus to the Television arena and rose to super fame with a few series. As an example of his acting skills, he was nominated for prestigious awards like Golden Globe Awards, two Satellite Awards, and an Independent Spirit Award.
