Veteran Kannada actor Harish Roy passed away in Bengaluru on Thursday, November 6, after a prolonged battle with thyroid cancer. He had been undergoing treatment at Kidwai Cancer Hospital, but his health deteriorated over the past few months despite continuous medical care.

Starting his acting career in the early 1990s, Harish Roy went on to become one of the most recognizable faces in Kannada cinema. He delivered memorable performances in acclaimed films such as Om, Nalla, Raj Bahaddur, Sanju Weds Geetha, and the globally popular KGF series, where his intense screen presence earned him immense appreciation.

In his later years, Harish Roy courageously spoke about his health issues and the financial hardships he faced due to his illness. Members of the Kannada film fraternity, including KGF star Yash, came forward to support him during this difficult phase.

Over a career spanning three decades, Harish Roy was celebrated for portraying strong, rugged characters on screen, yet was known off-screen for his humility and kindness. His untimely demise has left the Kannada film industry in deep sorrow.

Friends, colleagues, and fans have been expressing heartfelt condolences, remembering him as a dedicated and resilient artist who faced every challenge with dignity.

Harish Roy is survived by his wife and two sons. His final rites will be performed in Bengaluru.
