Even before the southern film and music lovers could come out of the tragic depart of legendary music composer MS Viswanathan, yet another musical luminary has departed to the next world. Last night, the Telugu film industry has lost the popular playback singer Vissamraju Ramakrishna, who breathed his last at his Venkatagiri Hills residence.
Ramakrishna was 68 and he is survived by his wife and son and actor Sai Kiran and daughter Lekha. Ramakrishna was born on August 20th 1947 in Vizianagaram. Legendary playback singer P Suseela is Ramakrishna’s close relative and encouraged by her, Ramakrishna took up music and ventured into playback singing with Vichitra Bandham in 1972.
Ramakrishna is well known for his Telugu Veera Levara in Krishna’s Alluri Seetharama Raju and Siva Siva Sankara in Krishnam Raju’s Bhakta Kannappa and several timeless classics in films like Muthyala Muggu, Dana Veera Sura Karna etc. Ramakrishna’s cremation will take place this evening.
