Vijay Deverakonda’s much-anticipated film Kingdom, initially slated for a May 30 release, has been officially postponed to July 4th. The announcement was made by the makers on X, citing “unforeseen events in the country” as the reason for the change.
In their statement, the team expressed that despite exploring all options to stick to the original date, the current national atmosphere made it difficult to proceed with promotions and celebrations. The note read:
“We believe this decision will help us present Kingdom in the best possible way, with the creative excellence and spirit it deserves. We thank Dil Raju garu and Nithiin garu for their understanding and support in making this change possible.”
Interestingly, July 4th was originally reserved for Nithiin’s Thammudu, which will now likely be pushed further to accommodate Kingdom’s release.
Though the national situation has shown signs of normalcy—especially with the BCCI resuming IPL 2025 and easing tensions at the India-Pakistan border—the Kingdom team has opted to stay cautious.
Whether this delay affects the existing buzz around the film remains to be seen. For now, all eyes are on July 4, as Kingdom gears up for a grand release.
